Michael Head DipFA
Senior Advisor
Mike began his career in financial services in 1983, working both as a representative of investment companies and as an adviser to clients. It was during his time at Friends Provident in 1987, while promoting the firm’s Stewardship fund to financial advisers, that he first saw a meaningful connection between money and morals. The Stewardship fund was the first retail fund in the UK to offer investors the opportunity to avoid supporting industries such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling and arms.
In 1995, he joined Ethical Investors as a financial adviser, focusing entirely on helping clients align their investments with their values. It’s a focus that remains unchanged to this day even as the market has evolved.
Alongside his work with Ethical Investors, in 1997 Mike co-founded Ethical Screening with the aim to understand exactly where money was being invested and what activities companies were involved in. Nearly 30 years on, the need for transparency has never been more pressing as the negative impacts upon the most vulnerable people in society has never been more extreme.

Jonathan White
Senior Advisor
White joined Ethical Screening after completing his master’s degree in international relations in 2019. He started as a researcher, and quickly developed an interest in the direct impact of his work: both in the work of traditional negative screening and in uncovering and promoting the positive impact of the companies he researches.
White is heavily involved in the client side of Ethical Screening’s work as Sales and Client Manager. He has extensive experience talking through and understanding client parameters in relation to ethics, helping clients find the best ways to spur positive change through their investments.
He now works with both institutions and individuals to ensure alignment between commercial goals and positive societal impact. This includes advancing transparency in relation to client portfolios and the ethical considerations in relation to companies.
